Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Stockwell
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Man with Van Stockwell in recognition of the risks of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place in any part of our business or in our supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Stockwell provides local and regional transport, removals, and related logistical services. Our operations rely on direct employees, self-employed contractors, vehicle hire providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, and occasional subcontracted logistics services. We recognise that elements of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, agency, or subcontracted labour is used, or where workers may be migrants or otherwise vulnerable.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to our own business activities and to all individuals and organisations with whom we work, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners. Any indication that a person is being coerced, controlled, deceived, or exploited for labour or services is completely unacceptable and will result in immediate investigation and appropriate action, which may include suspension of work, termination of contracts, and reporting to relevant authorities.
Governance, Responsibility and Training
Overall responsibility for our modern slavery approach rests with our senior management, who ensure that appropriate policies, risk assessments, and procedures are in place. Line managers are responsible for implementing these procedures day to day, including checking right-to-work documentation and ensuring that work is voluntary and fairly rewarded. We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery indicators among our staff and contractors and to embed a culture where ethical conduct and respect for human rights are prioritised.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all our suppliers and contractors to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves. Our supplier selection and onboarding processes consider ethical conduct, working conditions, and respect for human rights. We require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all relevant employment and human rights legislation and that they do not engage in any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour.
We conduct proportionate supplier checks and audits, particularly where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation. These checks may include requesting evidence of right-to-work procedures, reviewing labour agency practices, examining subcontracting arrangements, and seeking information about wage and working hour practices. Where concerns are identified, we work with suppliers to address them through corrective action plans. If satisfactory improvements are not made, we reserve the right to end the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage anyone working for or with Man with Van Stockwell to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be reported to a manager or to senior management in confidence. We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. All reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively, with appropriate action taken where necessary.
Ongoing Monitoring and Annual Review
We recognise that the risks associated with modern slavery may change over time as our business and supply chains evolve. To ensure our approach remains effective, we monitor our operations and suppliers on an ongoing basis and review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once a year. The annual review considers any identified incidents, complaints, supplier audit findings, legislative developments, and feedback from workers and stakeholders.
Where improvements are identified, we will update our policies, training, and supplier management processes accordingly. By reviewing and enhancing our controls regularly, we aim to continually strengthen our ability to prevent, detect, and respond to modern slavery risks.
Approval of this Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Stockwell, who are committed to its implementation and to the ongoing improvement of our practices in combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business.
